Alvin Toffler (* 3. október 1928) je americký futurológ, sociológ, novinár a publicista. Je nositelem čestných doktorátů v oboru humanitních věd, práva a přírodních věd, působil jako hostující profesor na Cornellově univerzitě, korespondent Bílého domu atd. 
Publikoval knihy The Culture Consuments. A Study of Art and Affluence in America (1964), Future as a Way of Life (1965), The Schoolhouse in the City (editor) (1968), Future Shock (1970), The Futurists (editor) (1972), Learning for Tomorrow. The Role of the Future in Education (editor) (1974), The Eco-Spasm Report (1975), The Third Wave (1980), Previews and Premises (1983), The Adaptive Corporation (1985), Powershift. Knowledge, Wealth, and Violence at the Edge of the 21st Century (1990), War and Anti-War. Survival at the Dawn of the 21st Century (spoluautor) (1993), Creating a New Civilization. Heidi Tofflerová je mimořádnou profesorkou na Univerzitě národní obrany ve Washingtonu. Je spoluautorkou většiny uvedených knih.
